Stephen Stevie Ray Vaughn was born on October 3, 1954 in Dallas, Texas. His parents were Martha and Jimmie Big Jim Vaughn. It was because of them that Stevie and his attach to Jimmie got into medicine. One daytime Doyle Bramhall, who at the time was the lead singer for The Chessmen was picking up Jimmie for a gig when he over heard juvenile Stevie playing his guitar. He was the first soul to tell Stevie that he was good. When Stevie was 12 years old he started playing with polar garage rock bands. His first arrangement was with a work party called A Cast of Thousands. Needless to verbalize his guitar playing stood out. He started playing a lot of gigs when he entered high school. First, he played with a new group that his brother Jimmie started called Texas Storm. It wasnt long after he stop playing with them that he started his own group called Blackbird. They played late nig ht gigs in local bars where he lived.
